Mrs. KovacsI have been teaching for 11 years. The first 7 years of my career were spent in Asheville, NC. I loved the chance to stay in the mountains and teach. I taught Kindergarten, 3rd Grade, and was a Literacy Interventionist. This is my fifth year teaching 2nd grade, and I am looking forward to another awesome year at White Oak! As an educator it is my goal to build a positive and safe culture in my classroom that allows students to reach their greatest potential and grow academically and as individuals.
I went to Appalachian State University for my undergraduate degree. After teaching for 2 years I decided to start my Masters degree. I chose to do a Masters in Reading Education because as a child I struggled to learn how to read. I wanted the knowledge to be able to better support my students so that I could help them grow to their fullest potential. After my Masters I received my National Board Certification in Literacy. My husband and I live in Apex with our sweet dog Bugsy. We love to watch football and cheer on our Notre Dame and Appalachian State teams! We enjoy traveling. We take any chance to visit the Outer Banks or Boone. Living here allows us to be closer to both! I love to read and try new recipes. My parents have recently moved closer to us, and we love having them nearby. Here are some of my favorite things: Favorite Color: Purple Favorite Children's Author: J.K.
